BCD436 - Send In to Uniden to...

Scott Van Nostrand

I’m thinking of selling my 436 after getting a SDS200 for Christmas. I’d like to be sure it’s 100% before putting it up for sale. Example…having the C1 diode checked/added if needed.

Anyone have experience with Uniden service department lately?

I had to send in my SDS-100 under warranty, and it took two months to receive it back. Status follow up calls did not offer any assistance.

That is sorta meaningless without a timeframe.

A year ago I heard a couple months was the norm.

Last fall, I heard two weeks was the norm.

I have not heard anything from the past few months.

I sent in a BC-898T that I bought on ebay for 50 bucks.  No back light.  Flat rate repair, fixed backlight, did firmware update.  Had it back in a month.  This was 2 months ago.

A few months is prob ok for me. I have the SDS200 now and just about complete setting it up on ProScan so I’ll have a “mobile” solution.
