The 396 is a cool radio; I have two myself.
But if you are in an area with multicast systems, the SDS 100 far outperforms it.

Uniden BCD996 DIN mounting frames
Is there anyone left who might need the DIN mounting frame/bracket that came with the BCD996 scanner series?
I have 2 here that I never used, "brand new in the box", including the 2 thin Removal Keys.

Low sensitivity on UHF. Only early units
had that issue, and then not all of them.

A few months is prob ok for me. I have the SDS200 now and just about complete setting it up on ProScan so I’ll have a “mobile” solution.

I sent in a BC-898T that I bought on ebay for 50 bucks. No back light. Flat rate repair, fixed backlight, did firmware update. Had it back in a month. This was 2 months ago.

A year ago I heard a couple months was the norm.
Last fall, I heard two weeks was the norm.

I had to send in my SDS-100 under warranty, and it took two months to receive it back. Status follow up calls did not offer any assistance.
