Hi Ean, thanks for pointing out that site. I have used that before and found a lot of systems there weren't in the RR database. The reason I pointed the OP, Harvey, to the RR database is he mentioned

Harvey,
I have just caught up on my e-mails, and hopefully I can answer your question-although I'm certain that I will receive a lot of corrections.

Re: SDS100 Upgrades?
In July of 2018 I purchased all three updates for my SDS100 from Uniden. Vendors are too expensive. The prices I paid were the same as when I bought my 436 three years previous and my 536 two years

Re: SDS100 Upgrades?
Correct. I monitor several systems that are ProVoice and works fine. They are not encrypted, of course.

That depends on your needs. If you have simulcast systems in your area, the SDS100 is the way to go. If not, the BCD436HP might be better. If size is a concern, the BCD325P2 might be what you

Re: Which one?
I had a BCD396T Years ago but I can’t find it now. It’s probably in box number 99 out of 100. It would be quicker to just get a new one.

I have a BC246 which works great for trunked analog and is no longer made. If I was going to buy new one today, it would be a BCD325P2.

Which one?
I will be looking in the near future to buy a new handheld scanner, what’s the best new one out there? And will my stimulus check cover it.

The answer is "Only the ones IN THE USER-CONTRIBUTED DATABASE". So if there's a system using NXDN or DMR in your area that's not listed at radioreference.com (which is quite likely with NXDN and DMR

So wait until you get home. I mean, you can't do the upgrade anyway
unless you're sitting with the scanner..

ProVoice and encryption are not one in the same.
Unencrypted ProVoice can be monitored in the Uniden scanners via an upgrade, just like DMR and NXDN

Re: SDS100 Upgrades?
I could not do that here because Uniden will not even give you a price without the serial number of the scanner you want to update - and it's at home, and I'm not.

Why go to a vendor? They're making a profit from you. Go to Uniden direct.

Guess again. I just checked about a half dozen vendors for the SDS100 and all that I checked except one were charging $75.00 for each upgrade. I did find one that had different prices: $99.99 for
