Re: Antenna for my minivan

I bought this magnetic antenna through Amazon, works well.  I would, however, the the BNC connector end.  I somehow ordered the PL-259 end, but a PL-259 to BNC converter took care of that.

Very interesting antenna, Bernie.
I was wondering if you monitor airbands with it?

I bought the Compactenna scanner antenna and a mag-mount for it. Only
8 inches tall so never has to come off for parking garages. Very
rugged and seems to receive well. I bought an extension cable to go
from the PL-259 coax connector to the scanner's SMA connector. Not
cheap, but works well. Ham Radio Outlet carries them.

Thanks Joe and everyone else that answered,
I did my rechargeable batteries and charger. It works great now. I tested the old batteries out of the radio and they did test bad (imagine that...3 years old and stored for a year...:-)0. Patrick---no there is no switch in the battery compartment for when using alkaline batteries.

Buy Parallels for $79 and install Windows 10. It’ll ask you to activate but all you lose are some personalization features if you don’t. Runs Sentinel fine.

Some manufacturers are finally figuring out that more of us have a Mac on our desk and building macOS versions of their software: RT Systems, Expert Electronics and others.

You should always charge the batteries with an external charger anyway, so you don't have a problem and melt the radio if one explodes.

Perhaps because MAC users are not a big enough market to justify the development expense?  Same reason there is little malware for mac.  The market it too small to attract a lot of attention from malware writers.
