Thanks. I don't get that pop up. Furthermore, under "Stereo Mix Properties" the Jack Information option is a blank with the exception of a single black dot.

On the Dells I've had to set, they just use the standard stereo 3.5mm audio cable. When you plug it in a popup comes up and asks how it is to be used. Select LINE IN.

Did you plug it in and select that it's a mic input?
(assuming there might only be one audio port)

Are you trying to basically listen to the audio from the scanner? WHen
you plug the scanner in (using a 3.5mm audio patch cable), the laptop
should prompt you, headset or microphone. Say Microphone. Then in
Windows Audio properties, you'll need to select "Listen to this
device."

Yeah, I've programmed a 536 with Sentinel set as a SDS, and so far no
problems that I see... I program my SDS100 and 536 the same.

Are the settings for both scanners interchangeable? It seems they are,
but I want to make sure I’ve not screwed something up by doing that.

Thanks!

I deleted systems 2&3 and set them up again. Working again since I did that. I was using Freescan for awhile and I am thinking I probably did something wrong there to stop them from scanning.I deleted Freescan from my computer awhile back. Not a lot to listen to around here, so I programmed the frequencies in manually. Thanks all!

try powering off the radio and then power back on.  my Uniden 536 will re-enable locked out *frequencies* this way.  worth a try.
