I have [4] 996P2's in the house and truck and the main thing I listen to is civilian and military air frequencies due to so much encryption in the area. I haven't experienced a problem with the air frequencies and as far as the ham frequencies
I haven't tried to scan those due to I have a ham transmitter and don't won't to transmit and forget to turn off the scanners first so have no idea about the ham frequencies. It has to be something your doing or not doing my friend

Yes I am using the system quick keys. It’s saying they are unlocked, but systems 2&3 won’t scan. Don’t know why.

I'm in Canada I have a BCD436HP with DMR and NXDN upgrades I was listening today to some NXDN on Railway AAR 88 (161.430MHz) which is the same as the US channel 88 I might enter these frequencies into a couple of different digital systems and see if that finds anything. Before my digital scanner days these channels would annoy me because they would stop my scan Thanks Steve

I've been listening to the railway frequencies and the 160MHz range lately and there are 2 frequencies where my scanner always stops (162.87 and 162.075 in my area) due to activity. On these 2 channels there is what I would call a continuous grinding sound, quite annoying to listen to but if you look at them in the waterfall of an SDR you can see that it's just not noise, it's data. I think holding the menu button while tunrlng on locks the unit and it will not do anything.
