Based on past experience working presidential communications, this sounds like it was the ground security for Prince William which was on duty until the plane was in the air, so they were confirming their responsibilities have concluded.

If they can’t offer a deal at MTC at least they take trade ins of just about anything as long as it doesn’t eat.  Plus the last time I bought something they didn’t charge sales tax.  I will second, nice folks, give them a call that works best.

They have a big push to reduce stock by the end of the year.

Happy Scanning ,  Over 5o yrs.  for Me Tubes and Crystals  , US Navy 63-69   Law Enforcement  including 911 Communications .  Ham radio with 3 On the Air Repeaters  and I still enjoy My  Radio Scanning Lifestyle  .. So how did I get started well growing up in a small Ohio country  home We did not have a TV  But  We did have an old Zenith  floor console radio , I Was  12 yrs old , The parents went to church  ,   I was not allowed to touch the radio But I was sick and stayed  home .  I turned on the old radio and the tubes started glowing and I saw on the Dial the word Police.   I turned that big dial and was hearing PD Calls from California  now known as skip .. Just above the AM Broadcast band…  Now it’s a SDS-100  I had to buy because our local PD/FD Went to Motorola  P-25 Phase 2 Digital .  I had a Another  Dig Scanner  it did not pick up well. And even with the Expensive SDS-100  I had a problem inside the house then I learned  about  the Motorola  Digital Simulcasting problems on a tower  I was close to… So I took some paper clips  open them up about 3 in and made a little 6 element 700/800 beam  put that on top of the scanner turned it away from the close tower and WOW no more problems,

 

 We sure have come a long way in this Wonderful Communications  adventure … Know  your Anti Scanner  Laws Indiana is still one of a few states   that it’s illegal to have  one in a vehicle   or handheld unless on your property   or place of employment … They are some exemption A FCC Lic Amateur  radio op  is one of them unless transmitting  on a Freq they  are not lic to be on…  Even Cell phone Apps are illegal  I have a  few friends that provide them , The way the Law reads it is  not scanner anymore but it is described  as any device that will  pick up PD Calls . Some refer  to us in this hobby as the bad ol scanner listeners , But We are the Eyes and Ears of our communities and Law Enforcement  cannot be everywhere … I know personally  How Scanner listeners have listen in and called in  when a PD officer who’s  Motorola radio battery on analog was  going low… and the 911  Despatcher did not hear him call in for help shots fired … but a Scanner  listener a block away heard it and called it in and may of saved the officers life and others too ..

  I’m in NY also…  I have one of these antennas .. it’s never rusted.- but then again I have never heard of ANY antenna rusting..

Now my 97 4 runner  is another case.

LOL, I actually did, Jack - but it was years later. I bought it on the advice of Warren Silverman, the guy who wrote the large scanner frequency books for metro New York area for Scanner Master. I'm not saying it wasn't a good scanner antenna, but it did rust...

My Austin Spectra has been installed on my 4Runner for 20 plus years and still looks excellent and works perfectly, very well built and seem to be a good performer on all the bands that monitor
