I think rebanding is still ongoing in the extreme SW part of the USA. Regardless, it has been complete for many years in most of the country with no reports of DB loading issues. (AFAIK) Joe M.

Scanners, like everything else, are getting more consolidated. Sometimes the RX chips used aren't as good as discrete components. I remember when the ECPA was released and scanners had to add Cell ban

There still could be so many issues it could be. What are the frequencies involved? Being able to hear something from farther away means nothing. There are many reasons that is possible. Are you using

Odds are it is one of the following: 1. You do not have the Service Type set. 2. You do not have the Quick Key enabled (if assigned) 3. You do not have MONITOR enabled. Joe M.

How to program manually...
The "VFO mode" does not matter with respect to programming. It is a function of the scanner and works with zero programming. It cannot be the CTCSS/CDCSS/Etc because that is a CSQ monitor mode. Joe M.
