does anybody know how to program one of these.i heard it can be done over the internet but its expencive.

You can get free software. I used Pro=Scan with mine. Worth the price I think.

so how is it done?how do you get the right frequncys for my county?is it something we can do over the phone cause i would love to learn.

If you go to www.radioreference.com, click on the Reference Database button, and then point to where in the US you are on the map, you will get almost all the frequencies that are of interest in your county.  Then program the ones you like into your radio.  John Watson, NY3K
