Everyone is going to have that problem...the scanner doesn't have the ability to tune to that frequency.

I think I read the post to say the "0" and "E" buttons don't work.

Not with that particular radio but with keypads in general, your pushing against a board with circuits under the button to make it react. Radio Shack sells a circuit repair pen in which you write over

That's an easy one. The 796 does not cover the UHF TV band.
It also does not cover 700 MHz which, as a
band, did not exist when the 796 came out.

If you go to www.radioreference.com, click on the Reference Database button, and then point to where in the US you are on the map, you will get almost all the frequencies that are of interest in
