Re: Talk Group Priority

The only thing you can do is change which TG is the priority one. You must always have a priority TG in each trunk bank and a priority channel in each conventional bank.

To change the TG or channel, hold on some other TG or channel and press and hold PRI for two seconds. The held channel/TG becomes the new Priority item.

Manual Pg. 44 for channels, Pg. 47 for TG's

I guess something must have been down at Uniden earlier. I had tried it with two different computers and got nothing. They do seem to be working now.

I'm getting another BC796D next week and have been reviewing messages about firmware updating. I have seen the following links mentioned in various posts but can't get either of them to successfully load in my browser.

http://info.uniden.com/UnidenMan4/BC796DFirmwareUpdate
http://info.uniden.com/twiki/bin/view/UnidenMan4/BC796DFirmwareUpdate

Does this mean they've been removed by Uniden? Is there a new url? I don't even get a response from info.uniden.com. I also tried the Downloads page on www.uniden.com and nothing displays in the Downloads window, even though the Downloads page shows.

It appears that all the available firmware revisions and uploader programs are in this group's file section. However, I thought it would be good to review Uniden's pages on firmware updates so I don't overlook anything.

Bob

Hello to the Group,

I am having a problem (a brain cramp) getting a 796 into trunking mode.

The scanner just wants to scan the frequencies.

Any ideas?

OK. I phrased the question poorly.

P25 systems, even rebanded ones, will work fine even on the original firmware since P25 rebanded systems do not require custom tables.

The essence of my question was, and should have been worded, if you are using it on any systems that require custom tables, such as rebanded P16 systems like those the OP was asking about.
